The Red Deer Highland Games have been held in Red Deer since 1947, and are known as the kickoff to the Highland Season in Central Alberta. There are numerous activities designed to create an exciting and fun day for those of Celtic Heritage and for those who’d like to be!
Join us for Piping, Drumming and band competitions, Highland Dance, Shortbread competitions and who could miss out on the Athletic Heavy events!
We have great activities for kids – including their own ‘Heavy Events’ games and Arts and Crafts! There are weaving and spinning demonstrations, livestock displays and live entertainment all day in McPherson’s Pub! The Celtic Marketplace hosts a variety of vendors with international foods, Celtic wares and local specialties!
Opening Ceremonies are at 12:00pm with the always amazing Massed Bands at 4:30pm
This is a great family event celebrating our Celtic Heritage!
